Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of September 12, 2016 to order at 7:30 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

ROLL CALL:

Council Members John Ruymann, Traci Fallow, Angelo Cilluffo, and Julie Zehe answered roll call.  A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to excuse Councilperson Ruymann and Councilperson Cilluffo.  Motion carried.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Palmerson with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of August 8, 2016.  Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC HEARING: none

CITIZENS COMMENTS:

Evelyn Hitzroth from FOTL commented that a sign for city/chamber/library would be a good idea to inform community of events

Mark Wolfe informed council of a kickstarter campaign for Papa Wolfe’s BBQ

 

MAYOR’S REPORT: none

 

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Chehalis Basin Strategy start 7:40 end 8:10 Kenny Allanmore and Chrissy Bailey discusses flooding and strategies to restore habitat along Chehalis river.

 

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda.

POLICE REPORT: 

Sergeant Lewis gave a brief oral report to the council by GHCSO in August.

WATER/STREET REPORT:  

Richard Armstrong updated the council on the pump project. Mayor Thomas Sims informed council of tree removal in alley

STAFF REPORT: none

OLD BUSINESS:

Allen St. Vacation topic will be discussed at the next business meeting

Don Terry- Rezone- workshop will look at other possible areas to rezone

CORRESPONDENCE:  None

NEW BUSINESS:  None

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: None

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #18587-18600 dated 08-10-2016, in the amount of $5,145.49.  Checks #18601-18632 dated 09-12-2016, in the amount of $28,222.54.  Payroll Checks #12595-12603 dated 08-30-2016, in the amount of $16,569.25.

Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Fallow to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilmember Palmerson stated that it was a good idea to get area rezoned so home owners can make improvements
