Mayor Keith Francis called the regular Council Meeting of May 14, 2018 to order at 7:30 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL:

Council Members Julie Zehe, Traci Fallow, Allen Werth, and John Ruymann answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second from Councilperson Zehe to excuse Councilperson Smith. Motion Carried.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to accept the regular minutes of April 09, 2018.  Motion carried.

PUBLIC HEARING: None

CITIZENS COMMENTS: None

MAYOR’S REPORT: None

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda

POLICE REPORT:  Officer Parris handed out a written report. Also talked about getting additional support for 4^th of July parade.

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Public Works Director, Richard Armstrong submitted a written report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments.

STAFF REPORT: None

OLD BUSINESS:

Chehalis Tribe- Memorandum of Agreement- A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Werth to except the agreement as written. Motion Carried.

CORRESPONDENCE:

Auditor Entrance Letter to Council- Washington State Auditors are currently performing their normal biannual audit.

NEW BUSINESS:

Voter Drop Box- A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Fallow to except the agreement as written. Motion Carried.

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS:  

RES #414 Sgt. Lewis Retirement-  A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to except the resolution as written. Motion Carried.

EXECUTIVE SESSIONS: None

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer, Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #19266-19281 dated 04/23/2018, in the amount of $5,169.12.  Checks #19282-19296 dated 05/10/2018, in the amount of $16,670.37. 

Payroll Checks #12734-12740 and EFT claims dated April 2018 in the amount of $19,829.94. 

Also included 1^st Quarter Treasurer’s Report

Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Werth to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Mayor Francis- mentioned that at the workshop the council express interest in becoming members of COG

Motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second from Councilperson Fallow to join COG. Motion Carried.

Workshop-  A motion as made by Councilperson Fallow with a second from Councilperson Zehe to cancel workshop which lands on Memorial Day. Motion carried.

Councilperson Ruymann- Thanked Richard for working on water that last two weekends

A Motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to Adjourn the meeting at 8:27 PM. Motion Carried.
