Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of May 8, 2017 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members Julie Zehe, Allan Palmerson, answered roll call.

Mayor Pro Tem Pro Tem Ruymann called the recessed Council Meeting of May 8, 2017 to order on May 15, 2017 at 7:31 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members Julie Zehe, Allan Palmerson, Traci Fallow, answered roll call. A motion was made to appoint Councilperson Ruymann as mayor Pro tem Pro tem by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Palmerson to accept the regular minutes of April 10, 2017. Motion carried.

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Guy Lewis- JustServe Specialist, spoke about his Volunteer program
Mary Parrish- Veterans memorial street sign presentation.
ATTORNEY’S REPORT:
Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda. A motion was made to announce the opening for mayor position with the end date of June 8th by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe. Motion carried.
POLICE REPORT:
Sgt. Lewis gave a brief oral report.
WATER/STREET REPORT:
Public Works Director, Richard Armstrong submitted a written report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments. Discussion about Chehalis tribe adding homes to water system.

Painting City Hall- Moved to workshop
Umpqua Bank Building and ATM agreement- Attorney will send response that the contract is under review.

Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted: Checks #18870-18886 dated 04/24/2017, in the amount of $6,840.09. Checks #18887-18897 dated 05/03/2017, in the amount of $12,658.11.
Payroll Checks #12655-12661 and EFT claims dated APR 2017 in the amount of $15,245.41.
1st Quarter report included in packet
Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Palmerson to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills. Motion carried.
A motion was made for Councilperson Ruymann to continue as mayor pro tem pro tem until the end of May by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe. Motion Carried.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilperson Zehe- Wanted to thank Mayor Sims for his service
Councilperson Fallow- Also wanted to thank Mayor Sims and thanked Councilperson Ruymann for stepping up to cover Pro Tem.

Mayor Pro Tem Pro Tem Ruymann made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:21 PM. A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe. Motion carried.
