CITY OF OAKVILLE COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES May 9, 2022

Mayor Anthony Smith called the regular Council Meeting of May 9, 2022 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL:

Council Members Bill Breedlove, Traci Fallow, Dan Martin and Julie Zehe answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Breedlove to excuse Councilperson Ruymann. All in favor. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Motion made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 11 and recessed meeting of April 25, 2022. All in favor. Motion Carried.

PUBLIC HEARING: None

CITIZENS COMMENTS: None

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Chris explained that this new contract is a little different than previous ones in that the City is not just hiring him, but his whole office. A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Fallow to approve the Contract for Younglove & Coker Law firm. All in favor. Motion Carried.

POLICE REPORT: None

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Monthly report was presented in detail.

STAFF REPORT: None

OLD BUSINESS: None

CORRESPONDENCE:

A copy of the Anders email with pictures of quad riders on city streets was provided to council. Deputy Parris indicated that this should not be happening in City limits. The Sheriff’s office has received a few calls on this. He recommends contacting the Sheriff’s office when this is happening and if they can catch them, they will talk to the child and parents.

NEW BUSINESS:

A motion was made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve the Office Lighting Estimate from Schumacher Electric. All in favor. Motion Carried.

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: None

CLERK’S REPORT:

Checks #20835-20847 and EFT’s dated 04/21/2022, in the amount of $8,800.96

Checks #20848-20862 and EFT’s dated 05/05/2022, in the amount of $15,519.65

Payroll Checks #13064-13070 and EFT’s for April 2022, in the mount of $18,763.45

Motion to accept made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Fallow. All in favor. Motion Carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS: None

No further business. A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second from Councilperson Fallow to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 PM. All in favor. Motion Carried.
