Mayor Keith Francis called the regular Council Meeting of June 11, 2018 to order at 7:30 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

ROLL CALL:

Council Members Julie Zehe, Traci Fallow, and Allen Werth answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second from Councilperson Zehe to excuse Councilperson Smith and Councilperson Ruymann. Motion Carried.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Werth to accept the regular minutes of May 14, 2018.  Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC HEARING:

2019-2024 Six-Year Street Plan- Called to order at 7:31 Richard Armstrong explained the plan. Councilperson Werth asked a couple questions about road closures during the projects. Hearing closed at 7:37

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

 

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda. A motion was made by Councilperson Werth with a second from Councilperson Fallow to ratify the purchase of the new mower. Motion Carried.

 

POLICE REPORT:  Officer Parris handed out a written report. Talked about extra help with the July 4th parade. Also talked about the extra work at the school with alarms going of at night inside the school.

 

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Public Works Director, Richard Armstrong submitted a written report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments.

OLD BUSINESS: None

CORRESPONDENCE:  None

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Representative and alternate for GHCOG- Council made the decision to have Mayor Francis be our Representative and Councilperson Zehe will be the alternate.

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS:  

RES #415 Six- Year street plan-  A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second from Councilperson Zehe to accept the plan as written. Motion Carried.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSIONS: None

 

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer, Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #19297-19311 dated 05/23/2018, in the amount of $9,800.18.  Checks #19312-19331 dated 06/07/2018, in the amount of $18,226.25. 

Payroll Checks #12741-12747 and EFT claims dated May 2018 in the amount of $19,555.22. 

Motion was made by Councilperson Fallow and seconded by Councilperson Werth to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

 

COUNCIL COMMENTS: None

 

A Motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to recess the meeting until June 25, 2018 at 7:30PM. Motion Carried.

Mayor Keith Francis called the recessed Council Meeting of June 11, 2018 to order at 7:30 P.M.

 

Council Members John Ruymann, Allen Werth, and Julie Zehe answered roll call.  A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second from Councilperson Ruymann to excuse Councilperson Smith and Councilperson Fallow. Motion Carried.

 

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Sealing of the Basketball Court- A motion was made by Councilperson Werth with a second from Councilperson Ruymann to accept the bid from Pave-X to seal the basketball court. Motion Carried.

 

 

A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to adjourn the meeting at 7:50. Motion Carried.
