Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of June 08, 2015 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members John Ruymann, Angelo Cilluffo, Traci Fallow, and Julie Zehe answered roll call. Motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann and seconded by Councilperson Cilluffo to excuse Councilperson Palmerson. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of May 11, 2015. Motion carried.
PUBLIC HEARING:
6 Year Street Plan Hearing was opened at 7:36 PM, summarized for the public, no public comment was given, hearing closed at 7:40 PM.

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Port of Grays Harbor gave a 20 minute presentation on their mission and business development strategy.
ATTORNEY’S REPORT:
Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda. Discussion on the status of the Police and Jail contracts still pending further information to be given at the workshop meeting.
POLICE REPORT: none
WATER/STREET REPORT:
Public Works Director, Dan Thompson updated the council on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments.
STAFF REPORT: none
OLD BUSINESS:
GHC Law Enforcement Contract – This will be moved to the workshop meeting of June 22, 2015.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Dean Johnny Letter – Seeking to improve Health and Safety within Oakville. Forming Transportation Committee and having representative from the City.
Kathy Lorton Letter – Impacts of Social media in the Oakville Schools. Seeking input from community to share ideas and find solutions.
NEW BUSINESS:
Terry Keegan from the Oakville Chamber talked about the upcoming 4th of July Parade, submitted the Special Event Application for the event and asked the council to waive the fee.
A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Cilluffo to approve Mayor Sims to sign a contract with the Chamber for the annual 4th of July Parade. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to waive the $50 permit fee for the annual 4th of July Parade. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to accept the bid from Inland Potable Services to clean City water tanks. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Cilluffo to accept the bid from 3MB Construction to take down a rotten fir tree on Fairview St, with the additional of taking out a second tree on the West side. Motion carried.
ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS:
RES#400: Six Year Street Plan- Motion was made by Councilperson Fallow and seconded by Councilperson Zehe to accept RES#400. Motion carried.
CLERK’S REPORT:
Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted: Checks #18108-18126 dated 05-27-15, in the amount of $14,750.16. Checks #18127-18140 dated 06-04-15, in the amount of $12,796.16. Payroll Checks #12338-12357 dated 05-27-15 in the amount of $12,990.24.
Motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo and seconded by Councilperson Fallow to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills. Motion carried.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilperson Fallow thanked the Port of GH for their presentation. Councilperson Cilluffo would like to go to the Health and Safety meetings at J&J Solutions. Councilperson Ruymann thanked the Port of GH for their presentation and thanked Terry Keegan from the Chamber of Commerce for keeping us up to date on the 4th of July Parade.
