Mayor Anthony Smith called the regular Council Meeting of January 10, 2022 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.


ROLL CALL:

Council Members Bill Breedlove, Dan Martin, John Ruymann and Julie Zehe answered roll call.


APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Motion made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Breedlove to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 13, 2021. Motion Carried.


PUBLIC HEARING: None


CITIZENS COMMENTS: None


MAYOR’S REPORT:

Oakville did well with the flooding emergency. Water staff did an incredible job. The box culverts did a good job moving water. Will have information on speeding trailers for workshop meeting.

POLICE REPORT: None


WATER/STREET REPORT:

Received 3 tree removal estimates for tree on W Eagle Street. I propose that this cost is divided 3-ways for each property owner, and 3MB be selected to do the work. Motion made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve. All in favor. Motion Carried.

Mayor Smith and Richard Armstrong expressed that they would like a formal acknowledgement to be sent to the Chehalis Tribe for their work on flood mitigation.

OLD BUSINESS: None


CORRESPONDENCE:

Judge Reappointment Letter from Arthur A. Blauvelt III. A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to accept the reappointment. All in favor. Motion Carried.


NEW BUSINESS:

RFQ for Engineer Selection. Motion made to accept Jackson Civil Engineering by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Breedlove was made to accept. All in favor. Motion carried.


ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: None


CLERK’S REPORT:

Checks #20702-20714 and EFTs dated 12/22/2021, in the amount of $4,981.40. Checks #20715-20733 and EFTs dated 01/06/2022, in the amount of $18,650.66. Payroll Checks #13036-13042 and EFTs for December 2021, in the amount of $17,537.94. Motion to accept made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Martin. All in favor. Motion Carried.


COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilperson Zehe expressed a thank you to Richard and Mayor Smith for their long weekend during the flooding event.


No further business. A Motion was made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second from Councilperson Martin to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 PM. All in favor. Motion Carried.
