Welcome to Oakville City Hall

Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of February 08, 2016 to order at 7:30 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL:

Council Members John Ruymann, Traci Fallow, Angelo Cilluffo, Allan Palmerson and Julie Zehe answered roll call.  Full Quorum.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of January 11, 2016.  Motion carried.

PUBLIC HEARING: none

CITIZENS COMMENTS: none

MAYOR’S REPORT: none

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:

2016 Committees- All committees remaining the same, with the exception of Councilperson Cilluffo will now be on the Audit Committee and Councilperson Palmerson will be on the Sewer committee.

Mayor pro tem- A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Fallow to reappoint Councilperson Cilluffo.  Motion carried. Councilperson Cilluffo accepted.

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda.

POLICE REPORT: 

Lt. Porter delivered a report for the council to review. 

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Public Works Director, Dan Thompson updated the council on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments. 

STAFF REPORT: none

OLD BUSINESS:

CORRESPONDENCE: none

NEW BUSINESS:

ADA Door Bid - A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the Always Safe & Lock Bid to install a push button door opener and also repair the existing front door of City Hall. - Motion carried.  An electrician will be called to install the necessary wiring to power the mechanism.

Emergency Management Plan- A new plan will be available soon for council to review.

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: none

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #18377-18391 dated 01-27-16, in the amount of $5,638.03.  Checks #18392-18405 dated 02-04-16, in the amount of $16,715.22.  Payroll Checks #12483-12498 dated 01-27-16 in the amount of $13,578.07.

Motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo and seconded by Councilperson Fallow to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilperson Zehe commented on how nice the new window looks. (outside trim will be painted as soon as weather allows.)

EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:

Mayor Sims called for a 5 minute executive session for Personnel under RCW42.30.110(1) at 7:56PM.

Council resumed public session at 8:01PM.

Discussion about the upcoming public zoning hearing on February 23, 2016 at 1:30PM.

At 8:10 PM Councilperson Cilluffo made a motion to adjourn the meeting, with a second by Councilperson Zehe.   Motion carried.  Mayor Sims adjourned the meeting.
