Mayor Anthony Smith called the regular Council Meeting of February 14, 2022 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.


ROLL CALL:

Council Members Bill Breedlove, John Ruymann and Julie Zehe answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann and seconded by Councilperson Zehe to excuse Councilperson Martin and Councilperson Fallow. All in favor. Motion carried.


APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Motion made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 10th, 2022. Motion Carried.


PUBLIC HEARING: None


CITIZENS COMMENTS: None


MAYOR’S REPORT:

Flow meter for flushing hydrants update. Info sheet for new businesses update. Mailboxes on street update.


PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Congressman Derek Kilmer presented on Infrastructure update. Topics included transportation, climate & resilience, water, broadband connectivity, and affordability. Resources are on his website kilmer.house.gov/infrastructure. Reach out with questions 253-272-3315.


ATTORNEY’S REPORT: None


POLICE REPORT:

Deputy Partis traffic safety is still a problem. I am working on setting a speed measuring device up for Oakville.


WATER/STREET REPORT:

Hatchet Man Tree Bid of $3,838.73 was discussed with each party paying 1/3 of the costs. Motion made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve up to $4,000. All in favor. Motion Carried.


STAFF REPORT: None


OLD BUSINESS:

Eagle Street Park Planning Survey & Layout Idea was discussed. Motion made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to approve moving forward with the survey. All in favor. Motion carried.


CORRESPONDENCE:

Native Plant School Project. More to come later.


NEW BUSINESS:

A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept Jackson Civil Engineering Contract. All in favor. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second by Councilperson Breedlove to accept Fusion Security camera upgrade estimate. All in favor. Motion carried.

The updated Committee List was looked over and discussed.


ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: None


CLERK’S REPORT:

Checks #20734-20746 and EFT’s dated 01/19/2021, in the amount of $10,966.89. Checks #20747-20767 and EFT’s dated 02/09/2022, in the amount of $14,093.56. Payroll Checks #13043-13049 and EFT’s for January 2022, in the mount of $20,070.91. Motion to accept made by Councilperson Breedlove with a second by Councilperson Ruymann. All in favor. Motion Carried.


COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilperson Breedlove will meet with Mayor Smith to discuss grants that Congressman Kilmer spoke of. Councilperson Ruymann wished all a Happy Valentines.

No further business. A Motion was made by Councilperson Ruymann with a second from Councilperson Zehe to adjourn the meeting at 8:46 PM. All in favor. Motion Carried.
