Mayor Keith Francis called the regular Council Meeting of December 11, 2017 to order at 7:30 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

ROLL CALL:

Council Members Julie Zehe, Anthony Smith and Allen Werth answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second from Councilperson Smith to excuse Councilperson Ruymann and Councilperson Fallow. Motion Carried.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Smith with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of November 13, 2017.  Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC HEARING: opened at 7:31 Closed at 7:32

2nd 2018 Budget Hearing- No comments.

CITIZENS COMMENTS:

P. Colvin- shared the need for a neighborhood watch

J. Tushka- Shared pins made by her daughter with the city signs on them.

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

 

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda.

 

POLICE REPORT: 

 

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Public Works Director, Richard Armstrong submitted a written report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments.

OLD BUSINESS:  None

CORRESPONDENCE:  None

NEW BUSINESS:

Reappointment of Judge Blauvelt- A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Werth to reappoint Judge Blauvelt. Motion Carried.

 

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: 

ORD. #620- 2018 Budget-  A Motion was made by Councilperson Smith with a second by Councilperson Zehe to except the 2018 budget as written. Motion Carried.

EXECUTIVE SESSIONS: None

 

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #19107-19119 dated 11/27/2017, in the amount of $7,254.15.  Checks #19120-19139 dated 12/7/2017, in the amount of $33,339.55. 

Payroll Checks #12699-12705 and EFT claims dated November 2017 in the amount of $14,197.08. 

Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Smith to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Mayor Francis- states he will get more information about a neighborhood watch program.

Councilperson Zehe- Wants the council to get ipads for convenience and security purposes.

 

A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Smith to Adjourn the meeting at 8:13 PM. Motion Carried.
