Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of August 08, 2016 to order at 7:30 P.M. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members John Ruymann, Angelo Cilluffo, and Julie Zehe answered roll call. A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Cilluffo to excuse Councilperson Fallow and Palmerson. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of July 11 & 25, 2016. Motion carried.

MAYOR’S REPORT:
Mayor Sims is working with Attorney Glenn on a Drug Policy for City Employees.
A motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo with a second by Councilperson Zehe to approve Dan Thompson to go to the Grays Harbor County Fair to represent the Flood Authority. Motion carried.
PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Port of Grays Harbor – Kayla Dunlap and Ex. Dir. Gary Nelson presented the update on Port Activity.
ATTORNEY’S REPORT:
Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda.
POLICE REPORT:
Sgt. Lewis gave a brief oral report to the council of incidents handled by GHCSO in July.
WATER/STREET REPORT:
Public Works Director, Dan Thompson submitted a report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments. Richard Armstrong updated the council on the recent failed water sample which only affected one meter and is not affecting anything up or down the water line.

OLD BUSINESS:
Allen Street Vacation: A Public Hearing was opened at 8:25PM and then recessed for further comment to be heard at the Workshop Meeting on August 22.
Rezone/Don Terry Report: The matter was moved to Workshop meeting for further clarification.

NEW BUSINESS: none
ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS:
RES#406 – City Cell Phone Use - A motion was made by Councilperson Cilluffo with a second by Councilperson Ruymann to approve Resolution #406 as written. Motion carried.
CLERK’S REPORT:
Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted: Checks #18560-18574 dated 07-21-16, in the amount of $5,679.51. Checks #1875-18586 dated 08-04-16, in the amount of $12,104.20.
Payroll Checks #12583-12594 dated 07-31-16 in the amount of $15,987.92.
Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Cilluffo to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills. Motion carried.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Mayor Sims welcomed new employee Richard Armstrong and let council know that Richard drives the City Ranger home.
