Welcome to Oakville City Hall

Mayor Thomas Sims called the regular Council Meeting of April 10, 2017 to order at 7:31 P.M.  Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL:

Council Members Julie Zehe, Allan Palmerson, Angelo Cilluffo, and John Ruymann answered roll call.  A motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Cilluffo to excuse Councilperson Fallow.  Motion carried.

Councilperson Fallow Arrived at 7:32

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilperson Palmerson with a second by Councilperson Zehe to accept the regular minutes of March 13, 2017.  Motion carried.

PUBLIC HEARING: None

CITIZENS COMMENTS: None

MAYOR’S REPORT: Mayor Sims updated council on the staff meeting held with city employees involving code enforcement and 3-year street paving goal.

PRESENTATIONS/COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

ATTORNEY’S REPORT:

Attorney Dan Glenn submitted a written report to the city council with his legal opinions on the current issues of the city and tonight’s agenda. Sharon English filled in for Dan Glenn.

POLICE REPORT: 

Sgt. Lewis gave a brief oral report.

WATER/STREET REPORT:

Public Works Director, Richard Armstrong submitted a written report on the projects and work being done around the city in the Water, Streets, Cemetery and Parks departments.  Discussion about Chehalis tribe adding homes to water system.

STAFF REPORT:  None

OLD BUSINESS: None

CORRESPONDENCE: Emails from B. Atoch about no dumping signs around town

NEW BUSINESS:

Chehalis Flood Authority- interlocal Agreement- A Motion was made by Councilperson Fallow with a second by Councilperson Zehe to Accept agreement. Motion Carried.

Election Drop Site Agreement-  A Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe with a second by Councilperson Fallow to accept agreement. Motion Carried.

Pearson Property- Mayor Sims informed Mr. Pearson that the city does not owe him a second easement and a letter from the city attorney will be forthcoming.

ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS: None

CLERK’S REPORT: 

Clerk-Treasurer Amy Durga, submitted:  Checks #18841-18853 dated 03/23/2017, in the amount of $14,503.72.  Checks #1854-18869 dated 04/04/2017, in the amount of $18,660.65. 

Payroll Checks #12648-12654 and EFT claims dated Mar. 2017 in the amount of $15,923.90. 

Motion was made by Councilperson Zehe and seconded by Councilperson Cilluffo to accept the Clerk’s Report as presented for payment of the bills.  Motion carried.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilperson Zehe- expressed interest in the city purchasing the Pearson property

Councilperson Ruymann-  Also expressed interest in the city purchasing the Pearson property
